Josef Müller-Brockmann

I started off the project research by looking into the work of Josef Müller-Brockmann, a Swiss graphic designer who’s typographic work was very inspiring to me. These examples of his work are scanned from the book “Graphic Designers in Europe” published by Thames and Hudson.

The simplicity of his work and the clear use of grid structure in the composition of his typography is very compelling. Using these techniques Josef Müller-Brockmann is able to lay out information in an aesthetically pleasing, but also practical way.

Sketches

Keeping my research in mind, I wanted to create designs that laid out the article in a clear way to get my point across in a bold and unique way.
